Ugh. I know I’m lame. Sorry. The header also makes it seem — to those who think I’m making some Transsylvanian pop reference, at least — as if I have some sort of vehicle-induced tumescent problem. Which isn’t true…well maybe. I haven’t blogged in weeks and I head right to the lame pun. For shame.
Trumping the aforementioned Tesla Motors Company‘s plans for an electric family car, Phoenix Motorcars announces their (arguably) affordable ($45K) electric SUV at the LA Auto Show. Phoenix Motorcars, who are so cool they don’t need words in their URL (http://66.218.37.153/index.htm, again, I’m lame), says it’ll have a range of 250 miles and do about 110 mph, similar to Tesla’s roadster. Both cars are powered by lithium-ion batteries and both cars manufacturers promise said batteries won’t catch fire. Phoenix also says they’ll sell a special adapter to recharge the SUV in 6 to 7 less than 10 minutes, which to me sounds like a big deal. A seven ten minute stop on the highway isn’t terribly inconvenient in the middle of a long road trip.
Apparently, Phoenix announced this last month, but I only know what I read on Engadget.
Now, if only we had a convenient source of electricity…
